Landscape Drawing

Landscape Drawing by American Artist
Ronald E. Langlois

Due to numerous requests over the past several years from people that wanted his artwork at an affordable price, Mr. Langlois agreed to start producing a limited amount of signed and numbered lithographs. His first series are a selection of four colored action sports fishing pictures and four pen & ink landscapes drawings. He is presently working on a second series that will be released by the third quarter of 2004.

The Port :
This pen & ink drawing is my favorite. It is on of the first drawing that I did representing a water scene. I wanted to show a sleepy fishing port. Many people have commented that it reminded them of the northeast where they once lived. I was pleased the way the fishing net came out. It shows texture and movement. This pen & ink drawing took approximately 120 hours to complete

Fishing in the Woods:
I started this piece with a blank piece of paper and had no idea of how it would turn out. I started with a few lines at the top of the picture and it took a life off its own. I wanted to draw someplace peaceful, where I would like to go to fish. While drawing trees, there are no shortcuts. The tree bark needs to look authentic. Each leaf needs to be drawn separately and the shadows and vanes need to be done properly to look like a forest. This picture took about 120 hours to finish.

Eagle on a Branch:
This is the fifth pen & ink eagle that I have drawn. It took approximately 90 hours to complete. The hardest part was to get the feathers down just right. I was pleased with the talons and the face shows character. The gnarled dead branch adds balance to the piece. When I showed this drawing to the printer to reproduce, he couldn't believe that I was able to get such fine detail with a simple pen.
